Bio Technology

What kind of technology is being discuss?
Bio technology, the artificial hand.
What are the benefit of this technology?
Helps the people who gets limb, who unable to function their hand. It helps the people to turn the wrist and have mostly every movement then human hands can do, but we cant feel anything.
What are the danger?
The hand connect to our brain through nerve, so whenever anything happen, the hand may destroy some nerve, or worst is it can effects the brain.
Are there any ethical problem with this technology?
In the past , the fake hand can not do anything. Right now, we have this artificial hands, but it just cant feel anything, and it is not better than the human hand. In the future, the hand may become way better than the human hand and every body wanna have it instead of the normal hand.

How do technologies effect my life?

Looking back in time, I realize how much my family lives have changed due to the fruits of technology. It has provided us with freedom and less consumption of time and resources. Pointing out a particular technology for the drastic changes in one's life is simply not possible. A nation's economic growth can be measured according to the level of technology. This is because a number of factors are responsible for affecting an individual's life style. Future technologies such as hybrid car, face scanner, singing toilets…of course improve my life from the low level to high level, really comfortable indeed. One common thing about all of those future technologies, as the goal all the investors wants to achieve is to save time. Human had been complaining about time all day long, some says it goes too quick, and either way. Yes, because it saves our time, so we can take advantage on our enjoyments and relaxations. But it is affordable for a regular Vietnamese family? The percentage I would predict is 1 of 200 families. I love modern machineries; however they seem so suspicious, as if they are unlocking the door of laziness for the human being, as whoever own a technology could easily fall down into the trap. The revolution in technology has given rise to chat rooms, discussion rooms, personalized web pages and online databases. The IT sector has completely changed the outlook of human communication with e-mails, video conferencing and instant messaging. With the advent of technology, people are building bridges to decrease the distances in their mind. One basic drawback that has taken place is that people are becoming lethargic due to high trends in technology. It is shortening our ability to pay attention. Robotics, automation and computerization are on the go for changing our lives. Implementation of robotics will give higher efficiency and cheaper labor, thereby increasing unemployment rate. Now the other side of technology is not so green. It is because of improvised technology only that we have seen nuclear and atomic wars. This has also leaded to increase in pollution as well as corruption. Technology is affecting our near future so it becomes our responsibility to streamline it in the right direction.

Evaluation

EVALUATION

In this assignment we needed to manage a successful theme park using the popular games software Rollercoaster Tycoon. There were four learning objectives: creating publicity material to promote the park, giving and using feedback to enhance the products, developing a profit and loss financial model, and using goal seek to model variables. In order to apply these objectives to our learning, we created a poster for publicity, a leaflet to introduce the product, and a spreadsheet model to predict profit and loss with the use of goal seek. Based on the design cycle, I broke the problems into a number of smaller more manageable activities. It was a lot easier for me than trying to solve the entire thing at once. I indicated my problems, listed things that should contain in the publicity, then chose the solutions such as poster, spreadsheet, and leaflet. Before we started on designing, we needed to do a sketch plan. After that was to evaluate things we made using either report or voice thread. Finally we embedded it to our blog to present.

First thing was my poster. The target audience for the poster was kids from above five to teenagers. At the outset, to reach the target, I needed to design a poster that was colorful, with visual words, informal written for the kids’ understanding and finally attractive. It sounded easy, but I was having difficult time with it. There were requirements from the rubric that asked us to follow while processing the poster. The poster must contain an original company logo, which we designed ourselves, details of the attractions available, price details, and dates available. The most complicated obligation was to design a logo, which many people I knew were struggling with. Although I finished making my logo earlier than anyone in class, but I never found me ready to present what I made. My poster contained most of the requirements in the rubric, except for the use of descriptive words. It was tough for me because my design could only handle fewer words but also not long letters also. Descriptive words like: ‘extraordinary’, ‘exclusively’… were nearly impossible to put in such little stars. But really I did it anyway in order to meet all of the needs. Even though it received a pretty good score, I wasn’t glad about the design along with the information on it.

The leaflet assignment was a pleasurable. I thought my creativity really showed through that. Back on track, this time, our goal was to introduce the park to the children also with young adults. I went really detail followed the plan I had sketched out, even though it didn’t look the same as it was supposed to. My idea was not to use blue tone like poster but every kind of green and mostly green with special font style and color, so that my audience could recognize the Vanilla Hills Park easier. Based on the feedbacks, the poster had gotten a theme ran throughout all of the pages that could make young audiences exited and gave them the directed information they needed. I finally reached my objectives there, where I had gotten all the needs of the leaflet, like maps, information, attractions pictures… I tapped my back and felt proud with the score I got.

Generally, the spreadsheet was okay. It seemed that the age of my audience increased through three projects, from kids, to young adults, and now for adult business people. My target audiences were adult and business people, as I chose a very simple design, and concentrated mostly about the formulas and functions, in order to calculate profit or loss. To change the color of cells and decoration, I used cell formatting, even though it was hard to make the spreadsheet looked satisfactory. There were requirements: four pages with expected number of guests, income, cost, profit/loss prediction if statement, and logo. I had gotten it all, with formulas all set up and a pretty logo. It was really difficult to set up formulas in different pages, but to think of linking up pages using formulas and hyperlink was even harder. It seriously took time, efforts to finish it.

Throughout the assignment, I realized I didn’t manage my time very well. I always finished my work before the deadline and handed in assignments on time. But it took me too much time to finish my works. I am a type of person who lives for and enjoys compliments. I would not mind of staying up from 4:00pm until 1:00 am to finish ICT poster (which I already did), and make it pretty as I possibly can, just for a compliment from teachers or even my friends. But sometimes, because of spending too much time on a piece of work like that, I forgot other homework and had to stay late till 1 to 2 o’clock or so to finished, which is not a very good idea at all.

By making the poster and leaflet, I got a chance to understand more about using PowerPoint, because I did all the drawing and designing on there. I dislike using pictures on internet, because it is really not yours, and they never have the pictures that I was looking for. So I drew it, which wasted lots of time but made my work really unique. While doing the spreadsheet, I got a chance to get review on all lessons that I didn’t remember from last year ICT like: formulas to calculate in Excel, hyperlink, page setup… Also a chance to learn more new techniques using Excel such as formulas to calculate profit or loss, cell protection, and lastly was sheet protect. Overall, running a business was way stiffer than I thought it could be. It was an extraordinary experience for me throughout this quarter though. I had learnt many new things, also so got to know many mistakes of mine. I will continue my great fortune of learning, but also study my mistakes in the past in order to not repeat them again.

Cat Tien Memories

Before the Cat Tien field trip, wasn’t only me but the whole grade eight were all excited. We talk about it almost every day, waiting for every second until Tuesday and there the beginning of our journey to the Dreamland. But as soon as we arrive, everybody looked kinda disappointed and hopeless. We walked a lot, and we did mostly walking every day at there, since there wasn’t any transportation except for bicycle and boat. But it was generally not a bad place to stay for four days, and I was really enjoying the trip.

The very first thing that I remembered the most about Cat Tien was the second day when we were there. I was in group one, so our team went to the Bau Sau Lake first. The guider, who was to me, a very annoying and didn’t - know - how - to - treat - his – costumers in a nice way, because he was always complained about us when we walked slow. Of course TEN KILOMETERS were not easy for city people like us. But that wasn’t what I really appreciate to remember. What I felt funny about was that the guider told us, “When we get to the lake, you will be able to see crocodile”. Turned out, there wasn’t any crocodile, and that made us walked ten kilometers in the jungle for nothing. Our students were really pits, and in conclusion, we asked the school to pay us back the money for the Bau Sau Lake’s visit. We didn’t receive any money back, obliviously, but that was a great excuse for us to have the rest of the afternoon free when we got back to our dormitory.

Speaking about dormitory, here is my second best memory. It is about my roommates, Liz and Tien. Right in that day, the second day at Cat Tien, we had gotten a camp fire and ate the marshmallows. It was 8 o’clock or so. We were burning our marshmallows and sat really near to the fire. It was quite cold there, so everybody gathered around the light spot to keep themselves warmed. We had that moment together until 9:30’. That was when we suppose to go back to our room to get changing and cleaning. By 10 o’clock was when we needed to go to sleep, all the lights needed to be turned off. Unfortunately for us, when we came back to our room, the first thing that hit my eyes was the frogs that jumped out from the bathroom. Liz was right behind me. I screamed and she didn’t know why. Based on girl’s feeling, Liz just ran to the door and opened it, as we rushed out to Mr. E’s room, our guardian teacher. So long, we spent the half an hour just to look for those frogs, but they disappeared to nowhere. Mr. Michael was there too, and he also helped us to find those creepy creatures. Tien went back later than us, just about 10 minutes, or so. No one told her that there were frogs in the rom. As soon as she knew it, her scream made Emily’s room, Kristine’s room, and Justine’s room had to yell out ‘Shut up’. Since that day, I didn’t afraid of any bugs and hairy legs spiders, even when I see them. That was awesome!

To be attended to this trip is my honor. Although Cat Tien field trip was the very first long days trip for me, also for AIS, but because of that, our friends got a chance to be closer together. Beside, live 4 days without parents is freakin’ splendid. I am waiting forward to see another field trip like this in the future. Peace!

My Holiday

My latest family vacation during Winter Break was fantastic. I went to visit Nha Trang for the vacation. Surprisingly, I met my uncle family from Canada. I thought it was just a coincident, but turned out, it was a planed family meeting from my dad. at the very first day, we canoeing to the island, called Hon Tam. And i saw the travelers at there done an extremely cool thing, they went para-sailing. I tried too, and wow, for a second, i already up to the sky, about 20 meters above the sea water.
when we went back to Hochiminh City, my uncle invited us for a buffet at a restaurant. When I went pass a street corner, I saw a little poor girl, carrying a 3 months baby, walked around , pulled out a container and begged for money. She looked so young, like 7 years old kid. At that moment, i realized how lucky i am of having my parents look after me, and I got a heart tender because of that.
